Progressive Peoples’ Party Aspiring Member of Parliament for Atwuma Kwanyomah constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mr Abraham Kofi Essuman Davis, known in the entertainment industry as Salinko has cleared the airwaves concerning his donation to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Thursday August 11.
Speaking on Atebubu based Atoobu FM’s Saturday Party Mix with DJ Sir Ray, Salinko saids his donation was meant to help the needy in the society but not for political gain.
The aspiring Member of Parliament further stated that it was his foundation,” the Salinko help the needy foundation” that donated the items to the hospital.
According to Mr Salinko,the donation was not the first time that Salinko foundation was giving out items to the needy.
The renowned Kumawood actor stated that his foundation started about five years ago, and has targeted to help pregnant women who cannot pay for their hospital bills, to help our brothers at the various prisons and also helps the various disable homes across the country.
The aspiring Member of Parliament further stated that his foundation and Nestle Ghana limited collaborated and donated some items to the Kumasi prisons earlier this year. He added that the donation at the Komfo Anokye hospital was supported by A1 bread and uncle Ben’s bread all at Kumasi.
When asked by the host DJ Sir Ray about his chances of overcoming the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr Salinko said the power is in the hands of his constituents to choose who they think can help improve the standard of living in their constituency.
He said he took the decision to become a member of parliament to make sure the Member of Parliament works much harder in the constituency.
