After the demise of the famous high life musician Daasebre Gyamenah known in private life as Abubakar Siddiq on Friday, 29th July 2016 at the Korle-Bu teaching hospital in Accra after a prolonged illness, a music producer called Vincent Kwame Nyefele known in the showbiz as Vinny Kay of Brain Drain Studio at Mataheko has taken advantage of the musicians death to promote a song he recorded for him almost five years ago.
The song titled Odo was released on Friday, 29th July, 2016 in the evening the same day Daasebre passed away. According to Vinny Kay, he remixed the song when he heard about the death of the artiste. When asked if management is aware of the release of the song, he said,
“No, ‘because I don’t have contact to any of his management. I don’t even know if he has a management team.”
Asked what he will do if the management of the artiste takes him on and he responded if they take him on, he wouldn’t know what to do. Vinny Kay who has been in the music business more than a decade and has recorded top Ghanaian artistes like Sarkodie, Trigmatic, Pope Skinny, Bernice Ansah, Daasebre Gyamenah, Ruby of TV3 Mentor fame and many others should know better and not to strategically promote his brand with the death of a legend like Daasebre Gyamenah.
When Daasebre Gyamenah’s management Enas Multi Media heard the song, they confirmed they were not aware and if the producer had released any song, then he was in for trouble and must be ready for them.
