7 Types Of People You’ll Definitely Meet At Tidal Rave 2018

Published

on

Everyone’s talking about Tidal Rave because who wouldn’t?

Every year, there are categories of people we keep meeting at Tidal Rave.

Let’s run you through these types of people.

The Gnashers

For some reason, if you found yourself at Tidal Rave, ALONE, then you fall into this category. The gnashers are easily identified. They can be found standing at random places, pressing their phones like they are texting someone. Hahaa!! No, they are not. They are only going through their gallery of two hundred and something pictures to look busy.

The Grinders

These are the ones who came to Tidal Rave to rub their bodies against some fine ass. These guys usually bring their own “botos” to grind but if you come alone, don’t worry, you’ll find some baddEST ass at Tidal Rave.

The Performers

Nah this isn’t about those who mounted the stage ooo. It’s about the guys who stood at random places to dance like they are on a Senior High School stage. With time, they finally get the attention they wanted and then, they tear free, breakdancing and doing cartwheels. You would easily find them in a lot of people’s Snapchat stories.

The Boozemen

Is there ever a party without this group? They’re always there for the free drinks and later buy little or no drinks. They’re the guys who’ll want to have a taste of every drink you buy. They mostly behave like the performers and they’ll shout the lyrics of every song the DJ plays.

The Foreigners

They are mostly white and they always have fun more than everyone else. They are all over the place and engage in every activity. If you are a photographer, you’d notice that particular group of white people are in every picture doing some of everything.

If you don’t know what PDA means here, it’s actually Public Display of Affection. These are the ones who can’t get their hands off each other.

They spend most of the time away from the main event and close to the shore kissing and hugging and being all lovey-dovey. There usually is an uncomfortable third wheeler or two, probably wondering why the planned boys’ night out got ruined by the girlfriend

The PDA couple never stays to the end of the show. They have to leave early because….unfinished business.

The Too-Known Girls

These are the girls who come together, dressed to kill with full makeup on. You’ll probably notice them with their phones, pouting at their cameras with the same cup of drink you saw them sipping from, 40 minutes ago.

They spend a lot of time around the make-up stands and they never stay to the end of the show because the free ride they came with had to leave early.

These ones never really paid for a ticket. They usually know someone who knows someone who knows someone to get them a free pass.

Edemfest 2018 scheduled for November 2

Published

on

Rapper Edem has officially launched the 2018 edition of Edemfest.

The multiple award-winning rapper launched the second annual music festival on Monday, October 15, at Urbano Hotel in Osu, Accra.

Addressing the press, the “Fokoloyor” hitmaker said: “as you would expect of creatives form these parts, my career began modestly — pounding on school desks and sleeping on studio floors. And so, I consider it a great blessing to reach the heights that I have, and to possess an influential voice.”

He said whenever he reflects on his musical journey, his heart ‘brims with joy’ but it also reminds him of the responsibilities he assumes.

“Undoubtedly, music is a powerful tool, and my music has constantly served as a great platform to share my story, and inspire fellow youth who nurse hopes of a better life. My name loosely translates as ‘redemption’ —and it is what I seek to demonstrate with my life.

Especially in an era where it is easy to lose our identity whiles navigating the globalisation question, Edemfest was conceived as part of brand Edem’s Corporate Social Responsibility, as an avenue to remind ourselves of an illustrious heritage as a people, and a wakeup call for us to preserve the very culture that makes us unique,” he stated.

A day-long event highlighted by a grand musical concert, Edemfest consists of various activities catering to art, culture, tourism and business.

Last year, the festival was held on the Keta High Street, with the core aim of raising awareness on illegal fishing. This year, the event, which serves as a prelude to the Hogbetsotso Festival, will be held with the objective of tackling sand-winning, and open defecation.

Edemfest 2018 comes off Friday, November 2, at the Aborigine Beach Resort, Keta — a serene beach with pure sands, the venue is a gorgeous testament of what happens when we take the duty of preserving our environment seriously.

This year’s event will be attended by over 20,000 patrons — double of the number we recorded last year.

“We are confident that Edemfest 2018, aside reconnecting us to our heritage and reviving our confidence in our potential, will go a long way towards contributing to the economic development of the area, as well as fostering budding talent from there. Watch out for a special performance by Agbadza group, Charles Nipson Foundation Group (NFG),” Edem divulged.

“We would like to especially acknowledge our partners: Clayman Impression, Griddle Kitchen, Gbevunation, Rythms Africa, and Genet Services for helping us put together the event,” he concluded.

Edemfest 2018 is proudly sponsored by Snappy Snacks, MTN, Aborigines Beach Resort and Betway.
