Strongman’s “STN” EP Preview + Highlights of Media Listening (@StrongmanBuner)

Strongman Burner, This name has been on the lips of rap enthusiasts for quite some years now. His authentic style of rap, metaphors and storytelling have secured him a cult following, the Strong Empire.

All these years, the “Charcoal” hitmaker still couldn’t boast of a body of work. Hence, he has decided to end the year in style, gifting his fans a Hip-Hop project.

The Extended Play (EP) dubbed “Still That Ni99a” abbreviated as STN is a collection of songs that prove that he’s still your favourite mic dude. Recently, his major releases have been Afropop/Rap, which isn’t the genre that ushered him into the game. Strongman started solely as a rapper, when he emerged winner at KFM rap competition during his senior high school days. He went further to be crowned as the Next Big Thing in GH Hip-Hop.

With 7 solid songs, the 2018 Best Rapper at Ghana Music Awards – SA echoes that he’s a force to reckon with in rap as a culture. On the last day of November in 2018, Strongman and his team held a media listening session in Kumasi, where most of the stalwarts came together to listen and critique the EP before release. Track after track, the media personnel shared their honest opinions, suggestions and contributions.

The tone of the project is set with “Vision” which features soulful singer Akwaboah. The Kwesi Arthur-assisted “My vibe” follows right after. The emcees drop bars on what keeps their fire alive, and condemn acts of hatred and things that kill their vibe. This song may become a Hip-Hop anthem, and a perfect fit for a Corolla playlist. Strongman had a lot of things to say on the third track “Still That Ni99a.”

Halfway through the sonic experience, Sarkodie steps in to deliver his words on “Monster (Remix).” Strongman has a new verse on this song which was largely slept on by lots of the media personnel, I hope you don’t as well. “Paper” which features Shaker addresses a topical issue, money. Strongman known for his ability to deliver on a substantial track nails it, then King Hook smoothly seals its beauty. When you get to have a dose of “Dose”, kindly take time to analyze every bar.

The media personnel were put in a frenzy when “Paid my dues” featuring Worlasi came on. From the instrumental to the hook and verses, the song ended up as majority’s favourite.

Strongman has entered the next phase of mastery of the art of rap, and STN EP is the project that will be used as a reference.

The album will be released on Dec 5, pre-order here on iTunes and an album signing event will be held at Pinkberry, Kumasi City Mall.

Shatta Wale to Headline WatsUp TV 67th Legon Hall week Artiste Night Concert

Ghana’s dancehall legend, Shatta Wale, has being confirmed the headline act for the biggest campus hall week concert in Ghana dubbed the Mega WatsUp TV Legon Hall Week Artiste Night slated for March 16th 2019.

The concert also known as the Artiste Night which would be the second edition organised by WatsUp TV in Partnership with the Legon Hall of the University of Ghana is to mark the 67th anniversary of the hall and climax its weeklong activities.

With last year performances from Nigeria’s Mayourkun, Kidi, Epixode etc, performances for this year’s concert will be from resident students and other top musicians hosted at the forecourt of the Legon Hall at the University of Ghana from 6PM.

Key among other artists to join Shatta Wale on stage are: Sista Afia, S3fa, Kwamz & Flava,Dope Nation ,Rudebwoy Ranking, Freda Rhymez, Danny Beatz, Lil  Shaker, Article Wan, Lord Paper,Dahlin Gage, Kobla  Jnr , Adepa

A1 Raceway will also entertained with Go Kart activities from 9am till the  start of the concert at 6PM. 

The event which is also the official Artiste night with WatsUp TV is supported by SHOB Group, itel Mobile , Endowed Entertainment, Aftown, 369 Live & Mega Campus Concert

FlyBoy Geesus Threatens To Sue Movie Producer For Copyright Infringement

Copyright Infringement is a whole different ballgame in the Ghanaian music industry.

You will find content of artistes, musicians, producers song writers and many others being used without their permission.

FlyBoy Geesus is the latest receipient of such issues and he has vented his anger out on social media.

The rapper in a Facebook live video spoke about a movie director using his hit single Kisses For Breakfast which featured Stonebwoy without his permission.

He went of further to talk about how he funds his own career and feels dissrespected by the actions of the movie director for not consulting him before using his content for his production.

A court suit is presumed to be in place to get justice served. Watch his live video here.

We did our own investigaion and we found the tv production as Devil Under My Pillow and the producer is known as Samuel Degraft Yeboah.

We tried contacting him for further responses but none was returned. Updates on this issue will be provided later.

Bra Dea Foundation Pledges To Donate 5000 Maths Sets; 1170 Pieces Already Donated

According to the pupils who spoke toNimde3 news, the maths set came at the time when they needed it most.

They have therefore called on benevolent institutions to also adopt the government schools and help them in the way they can since government cannot do it all.

Speaking to the CEO of Bra Dea Foundation, Micheal Marcus Edwards, he said his foundation’s target is to distribute 5000 pieces of maths sets, they have so far shared 1170 and hope they will be able to share the rest before the year ends.

“So far communities who have had their share of the maths sets are Ayakomaso, Mantukwa, Fiapre, Sunyani , Abesim, Tanoso, Susuanso, Odumase , Kwatire and Adantia all in the Sunyani East, West and Tano North Districts”.

Mr. Edwards said, their next stop will be Nanketewa, Wawasua and Kyeremehkrom in the Sunyani East Municipality.

He further mentioned that, the foundation will like to visit 50 communities each in the Sunyani East and West Constituency.
